Your Primary Location
Every InventoryHQ account starts with one primary warehouse location, included with the Core Plan. This is your default location — the one that appears first in inventory lookups, job assignments, and reports. You can rename it to match your actual facility name at any time.1
Go to Settings
From the main navigation, select Settings, then choose Locations from the left-hand menu.
2
Edit your primary location
Click the pencil icon next to your primary location to edit its name, address, and any notes about that facility.
3
Save your changes
Click Save. The updated location name will appear throughout your account, including in inventory lists and reports.
Adding a New Warehouse Location
When your business expands to a second or third facility, add each new location as a separate warehouse in InventoryHQ.1
Go to Settings > Locations
Navigate to Settings and select Locations.
2
Click Add Location
Select Add Location in the top-right corner.
3
Enter location details
Fill in the location’s name, physical address, and any relevant notes (for example, “Main distribution hub” or “Satellite yard – North region”).
4
Save the new location
Click Save. The new warehouse is now active and appears in inventory forms, job assignments, and reporting filters throughout your account.
Each additional warehouse location is available as a paid add-on at $99/month, which also includes 5 additional users — making it cost-effective to expand your team alongside your footprint. To add a location to your plan, go to Settings > Billing or see Billing & Plans.
Setting a Location as Your Primary Warehouse
If your main operational hub changes, you can update which location is treated as the primary warehouse.1

Navigate to Settings and select Locations.
2

Click the location’s name to open its detail page.
3

4

Viewing Inventory at a Specific Location
Once you have multiple locations set up, you can filter your inventory view to see only the materials and equipment at a given facility.1
Go to Inventory
Navigate to the Inventory section from the main menu.
2
Apply the Location filter
Open the filter panel and select the specific warehouse you want to view from the Location dropdown.
3
Review location-specific inventory
The inventory list updates to show only items assigned to that location. You can export this filtered view for physical stock checks or transfer planning.
Service Trucks vs. Warehouse Locations
Warehouse locations and service trucks are managed separately in InventoryHQ. A warehouse location represents a fixed facility where materials and equipment are stored. A service truck is a mobile unit that carries its own assigned inventory and equipment between job sites.Service trucks are not counted as warehouse locations and are managed under their own section of the platform. For details on setting up and managing service trucks, see the Service Trucks Overview.
