Low stock alerts in Inventory HQ notify you when a material falls to or below its Minimum Stock Alert threshold. Alerts surface in several places across the platform, and you can opt in to email notifications so you do not have to remember to check.

Where alerts surface

Once a material drops to or below its threshold, it appears in every one of these places automatically:
  • Dashboard KPI card: the Low Stock Alert card shows the count of materials at or below threshold.
  • Dashboard Low Stock Alerts panel: each affected material with a Restock shortcut on the row.
  • Low Stock Alerts page: the full list with inline Restock actions and an Export Excel button to hand the reorder list to purchasing.
If low stock alerts are not appearing, the cause is almost always a missing Minimum Stock Alert value on the material. Alerts only trigger against a threshold that has been set.

Turn on low stock emails

Email alerts are opt-in per user, so each person who wants them enables them on their own profile.

Open the account menu

Click the three-dots menu at the bottom left of the sidebar, next to your company name.

Open your Profile

Select Profile from the menu.

Enable low stock emails

Toggle on Receive Low Stock Email Updates and save.

Set the threshold that drives alerts

Every alert on the platform is driven by the Minimum Stock Alert value on each material. An item without a threshold set will never appear in any low stock surface, and will never generate an email. For instructions on setting or editing the threshold, see Adding items.
