How locations work in Inventory
Warehouses and service trucks both behave as locations in the Inventory module. Service trucks are your own vehicles, for example crew trucks or install vans, and they act as mobile warehouses. Stock can be added to a truck, pulled from it on a job, and returned to it just like any fixed warehouse.Truck stock appears in the Inventory location filter alongside warehouses, and counts toward low stock alerts. A material’s total stock on hand includes quantities at every warehouse and service truck combined.
Checking stock by location
Use these tools to see where your stock actually sits:Location filter
Open the Filters panel on the Inventory page and select a specific warehouse or service truck. The list narrows to show only the stock at that location. This is the fastest way to check what is sitting at one place only.View row action
Click View on any material row to see current stock broken down by location, plus the full batch history. This shows you exactly how much of that item is at each warehouse and truck, and which batches are oldest.Service trucks as mobile warehouses
Service trucks are added and managed in the Service Trucks module, but they behave as locations throughout Inventory HQ. You can:- Restock a truck the same way you restock a warehouse.
- Pull material directly from a truck on a job.
- Return material to a truck.
- Filter the Inventory list by truck to see only what is on board.
The two views serve different purposes. Use the Service Trucks module to move, stock, and pull inventory. Use the Equipment module for visibility of the vehicle itself as an asset rather than what it is carrying.
